Sheet Metal Mechanic Job Description The Sheet Metal Mechanic will be responsible for installing and hanging sheet metal duct, as well as installing Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems in a commercial, new construction project. The role involves working with spiral and galvanized duct, requiring the ability to braze and solder refrigeration piping, specifically copper pipe. The candidate must be able to fabricate duct and read blueprints to lay out their own work effectively. Responsibilities Install and hang sheet metal duct in commercial construction projects. Install Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems. Work with spiral and galvanized duct. Brazing and soldering refrigeration piping, particularly copper pipe. Fabricate duct as needed. Read and interpret blueprints to lay out work independently. Essential Skills Expertise in sheet metal and HVAC systems. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints. Experience with duct work installation and construction. Skilled in using hand and power tools for sheet metal duct installation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with spiral ducts and VAV box installations. Proficiency in brazing and soldering techniques. Why Work Here?
