MEP Estimator

Pavarini McGovern is seeking a junior MEP Estimator for a full time, in-person position in our New York City office. The position entails assisting in the preparation of estimates for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Security, Telecommunication, Fire alarm and Audio Visual systems that range from conceptual through 100% Construction Documents. The types of projects include Hospitality, Residential, Commercial, Healthcare, Educational, Cultural and Parking & Storage Structures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing detailed estimates based on Design Narratives; MEP and Architectural conceptual, schematic, design development and construction document drawings and specifications.
• Prepare breakout estimates with the assistance of the Sr Estimator.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, system studies, system comparisons and value engineering analysis.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with design teams, subcontractors and vendors.
• Solicit budgets and bids from subcontractors and vendors.
• With the Sr. estimator, review, analyze and discuss bids for conformance to project specifications, budget, equipment and material quality, insurance and client requirements.
• Attend client meetings with the Sr. Estimator to discuss estimates and resolve any issues regarding pricing.
• Collaborate with in-house Architectural estimators and field operations staff.
• Maintain current information on construction cost pricing and trends.
• Attend site visits to evaluate spaces relative to the proposed construction and associated estimate.
• Software utilized: On Screen take-off, Beck Destiny, Excel & Word.
• Assist in the award of subcontractor and vendor contracts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience plus 5 years of MEP experience in New York/New Jersey.
• Requires well developed communication, organizational and computer skills.

Salary Range

• Desired salary range $100,000- $130,000
• Eligible for discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
