Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer will provide complete electrical designs, develop construction documents and reports, and support other civil and structural projects. The position requires day-to-day team communication, project planning, organization, training, direction, and control to meet the company's engineering goals and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
To be self-motivated, and capable of independent detailed work.
Able to perform a wide array of design functions including equipment selection, system sizing, load calculations, product specifications, and design layouts for electrical, communication and control systems.
Be able to prepare design calculations, develop drawings, formulate technical specifications and create technical reports for review and submission.
Be capable of field audits, surveying existing conditions, and recording information about project components, including building lighting and electrical, communication, and control systems.
Familiarity with electrical and communication design software Including power distribution analyses, radio coverage and link calculation analyses, and other as future projects may require.
Able to coordinate, support and communicate with colleagues across all disciplines and receive direction from project leads.
Provide technical guidance to drafters, designers and construction personnel.
Encouraged to grow to where you'll be able to lead projects and influence the technical design solutions on projects.
Qualifications
Familiarity with single phase and three phase low voltage distribution systems and equipment
Experience with RF (Radio Frequency) systems and components
Knowledge of telecom network architecture and protocols.
Proficient with spreadsheets, word processing and standard office software (MS Excel, Word)
Candidate should be familiar to proficient with technical drafting using AutoCAD and Bluebeam and have proficient knowledge of lighting and calculation programs.
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or related experience.
Certifications
PE Licensure in the State of Alaska or interest in acquiring a plus.
