Minimum five years at journeyman electrician level required. Previous electrical experience on medium voltage generators and switch gear, motor control centers, substations, transformers, automatic transfer switches and electrical distribution systems required. Three years experience in a hospital environment preferred.License(s): Must obtain a valid City of Reno Journeyman Electrician license within 30 days of hire.Valid State of Nevada or California Driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria.Certification(s): NoneComputer / Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:**The major challenges to this position are performing inspections or repairs with a minimum of down time or interference with staff or patients; and determining accurate diagnosis of problems in malfunctioning equipment or systems. Other related duties and overtime may be required.This position has the authority to determine, within department policies, procedures and guidelines, what is in need of repair or replacement while troubleshooting faulty equipment; the safety status of equipment or systems; to shut down equipment for maintenance after coordinating with affected department (s); and the operational capabilities of equipment. All other decisions must be referred to the Director, Manager or Supervisor.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities1. Can actively support Renown Health's Standards of Conduct.2.
