Thornton Tomasetti, Inc., seeks Project Engineers - Structure in DenverColorado.Job Duties:Prepare analysis and designs for structural elements and systems.Coordinate all activities with project manager and other design engineers.Communicate and coordinate with clients and consultants includingarchitects and civil/mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineers to ensureclear understanding of project goals and expectations. Interact with clientsand team members regarding project information.Analyze building structures including load, wind, gravity, and geometry.Interpret building codes.Determine project, design and construction specifications includingbeam size, column size.Guide/assist other engineers regarding issues such as codes, designcriteria, and software.Coordinate and guide preparation of construction documents with BuildingInformation Modeling (BIM) staff, clients, and internal quality staff.Spot-checks calculations and back-checks plan mark-ups and completeddrafting.Perform construction administration services on assigned projects.Respond to RFIs from contractors and subcontractors.Attend construction meetings and visits jobsite at major stages and phases.Perform other functions as needed.Mentor other employees on various design techniques and on TT designstandards, codes and software applications.Develop drawings and spreadsheets to create new standards.Act responsibly to conserve energy and reduce waste in the officeenvironment.Requires a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering ora related field plus 2 years of experience in a related occupation. Requires 2years of experience with the following: Utilizing structural analysissoftware; Working with spreadsheet or MathCAD style calculationtools/software; working with Bluebeam to create markups on structuraldrawings; Utilizing Revit 3D BIM software, including developing drawingsand details for schematic design, design development, and constructiondocument phases of projects; Utilizing technical writing to preparestructural engineering reports related to technical work and expertise;Performing structural analysis and design of steel and reinforced concretestructures; Preparing structural calculations and plans for schematicdesign, design development and construction documents. Telecommutingand/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies.When not telecommuting, must report to worksite.40 hours/week. The compensation for this role is at least $92,500 peryear.
