Handyman Candidate for our Maintenance Department for the Day Shift from 6:00am-4:00pm or until the work is finished.
Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Handyman, a highly motivated candidate with excellent problem-solving skills to join our Maintenance/Facilities Department.
Candidate(s) must be flexible with working hours (at the beginning while on training the working hours will vary from 6:00am-4:00pm or until the work is done; after training the hours may change.)
The pay rate will be based on experience and qualifications between $21.00-$22.00/hr. This will be a direct hire with benefits that includes paid sick/personal days, paid vacation, paid holidays, health insurance (medical, prescription, dental, vision), life insurance, and 401K plan with Companys match.
Candidate(s) must complete an employment application and is subject to a drug/alcohol screening and background investigation (past employment verification, education, and criminal history).
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Candidate will be assisting with general building maintenance. General maintenance and repairs of offices & warehouse facilities (interior & exterior maintenance/repairs)
- Candidates must have a wide range of skills and experience to do general construction work, including but not limited to maintenance & repairs of offices, warehouse facilities, painting, drywall, flooring, lighting.
- Must enhance maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing any new and different requests
- Must have the flexibility to work random weekends based on emergency maintenance needs.
- Must have a valid Drivers License and must provide an abstract of driving records. May be driving a Companys vehicle only when necessary.
- Will be assisting with snow removal/plowing as needed during wintertime.
- Should have the ability to work at heights and in unusual positions
- Regularly lift and /or move from 25 lbs. up to 50 lbs.
- Will be very helpful if candidate(s) have experience and are certified to operate a Sit-down Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack. This will be a plus but not required
- Should have electricians knowledge a plus but not required.
- Must have own transportation.
