Job Description Join a dynamic team specializing in civil, structural, and mechanical construction services for industrial markets. As a Project Engineer, you will support the construction management team in Brighton, focusing on projects ranging from ground-up construction to renovations and maintenance. You will assist Project Managers in managing site safety, RFIs, and other operational tasks. Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to determine project specifications.
- Manage all document control activities.
- Assist in the preparation, maintenance, and reporting of the master schedule.
- Develop detailed work breakdown structures, milestones, and activity dependencies.
- Coordinate and lead project meetings.
- Manage prime contracts and subcontracts, ensuring project completion and financial success.
- Review job estimates and sign off before proposal completion.
- Create and issue job schedules, work orders, and budgets.
- Prepare project status reports, ensuring adherence to contract specifications.
- Document changes to jobs, including change orders and plan set modifications.
- Monitor materials and completed work to issue pay requests on time.
- Act as an intermediary for communications between the owner, engineers, and company personnel.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to meet quality and safety standards.
- Ensure customer quality standards are met and conduct quality inspections.
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Engineer for a General Contractor.
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Adobe, Project, and Primavera P6.
- Strong project management, coordination, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and a competitive spirit.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Ability to travel throughout Michigan and the Midwest (20% in-state, less than 5% out-of-state).
- Experience in developing and maintaining MS Project and Primavera P6 schedules.
- Knowledge of modifications and upgrades for automotive, electric generating, steel mills, and water/wastewater facilities.
