KEY TASKS
- Troubleshoot issues to determine root cause(s) and make decisions on temporary or permanent solutions
- Assist with projects dealing with expansions and improvements, write up project approvals, merit calculations, equipment specifications, and oversee installation, start-up and debugging of equipment
- Manage plant utilities, monitor usage, and implement methods to reduce cost
- Consult with utility experts to determine an appropriate replacement & preventative maintenance scheduled for electrical equipment to ensure compliance with NFPA safety standards
- Research and recommend cost savings programs available through our utilities provider and other appropriate sources
- Design and specify new equipment as well as modifications for existing equipment
- Specify spare parts for new and existing equipment to minimize the amount of stock needed on hand
- Maintain and update various monthly utility charts/records
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical components of industrial equipment
- Observe safety procedures and comply with electrical codes
- Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including fuses, lighting, and wiring
- Monitor, inspect, test, and diagnose issues with the electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning
- Maintain documentation of repairs and service information
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or Journeyman experience or the successful completion of an electrical apprenticeship program
Years of Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment required
Other Requirements:
- Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as workload or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Must be able to understand and make decisions based on technical documents, such as blueprints, or schematics
- Work as a team member or alone to complete projects.
Practical working knowledge of NEC, as well as state, and local electrical codes and regulations - Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
