Job Description

We recruit highly skilled individuals for a variety of disciplines in the construction field. A skilled craft worker is an essential cog in the wheel of any Superior Construction project.

Your role within the company will include participation in site safety, protection of the environment, and construction of exciting and challenging projects.

Essential functions

  • Must be able to read and interpret all load charts and be able to interpret hand and voice signals

  • Inspects the condition of the work site prior to crane set up and ensures the crane is in optimal condition/position to perform the lift at its safest possible capacity

  • Determines how much material can be lifted safely based upon weather conditions and the capacity of the crane

  • Must maintain a current National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), National Center for Construction Education Research (NCCER), or other Occupational

  • Knowledgeable in OSHA Regulations and ANSI standards in crane operations

  • Keep work area and equipment clean by collecting and disposing of scrap and excess materials.

  • Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent, and coworkers

Work Environment

This is field based role. Employee will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

Physical Demands

The position lifts heavy objects, walks, and stands for long periods of time, and performs physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects and uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.

The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The employee must have excellent stamina.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. This position will occasionally require long hours and weekend work.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must adhere to OSHA safety protocol and work in a drug-free environment.

  • Must be reliable/have reliable transportation.

  • Previous experience is required.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state drivers license before employment.
