Location: South San Francisco, CA Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant Superintendent to support field operations on multi-family residential projects in South San Francisco . Reporting to the Superintendent, this role will assist with daily site coordination, subcontractor oversight, schedule tracking, and enforcement of safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has prior experience working on Type III or V wood-frame and podium construction , and is looking to grow into a lead superintendent role. Key Responsibilities: Field Operations & Coordination Assist the Superintendent with daily on-site supervision of trades and construction activities. Help manage site logistics , material deliveries, and trade sequencing for multi-family housing construction. Maintain daily logs, subcontractor reports, and field documentation using Procore or similar software. Support execution of rough framing, MEP rough-ins, waterproofing, and unit turnovers . Safety & Compliance Monitor site for compliance with OSHA/Cal-OSHA , local building codes, and company safety policies. Conduct or assist with daily safety meetings , toolbox talks, and site inspections. Promote a safety-first culture and ensure incident reports and safety documentation are current. Quality Control & Scheduling Perform regular walk-throughs to check progress, quality, and adherence to plans. Support punch list management , inspections, and project closeout. Help maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules in coordination with the Superintendent and Project Manager. Subcontractor & Stakeholder Support Assist with coordination and supervision of framing, concrete, MEP, finishes, and site work subcontractors . Communicate field conditions and updates with project management, architects, and consultants. Facilitate readiness for city, fire, and third-party inspections , particularly for podium and multi-unit structures. Qualifications: 3+ years of construction field experience, with at least 1-2 years on multi-family projects . Familiarity with Type III/V construction , podium decks, wood framing, and high-density residential sequencing. Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office ; able to maintain field documentation and reports. Excellent communication and coordination skills with both internal teams and subcontractors. Strong understanding of safety standards and ability to support a productive, safe work environment.
