Overview:
Laland Baptiste is seeking a certified Senior Construction Superintendent to independently oversee construction phases, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence across major civil infrastructure projects, The Superintendent will oversee daily construction activities on public works s such as roadways, water and sewer systems, drainage, public buildings, and utility infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of public sector standards, Caltrans or DOT specifications (or local equivalent), prevailing wage requirements, and the ability to deliver high-quality work under strict regulatory and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise all field construction activities on public works projects, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and government regulations.
Coordinate with municipal agencies, inspectors, subcontractors, engineers, and utility providers.
Ensure strict adherence to public safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Enforce adherence to labor compliance and prevailing wage laws.
Monitor project progress and maintain project schedules
Qualifications:
Education & Credentials
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 7+ years of construction scheduling experience, with at least 3 years on large-scale ($50M+) projects.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (required), MS Project or similar a plus.
Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and resource planning.
Experience working in CM/GC, Design-Build, or agency CM environments.
Excellent communication and analytical skills; ability to work cross-functionally and under pressure.
Skills
Knowledge of public agency scheduling requirements (e.g., NYS DOT, MTA, DDC, HHC, or similar).
Familiarity CPM methodologies, and Lean scheduling techniques.
Pay Rate: $85-$95/Hourly Salary. Actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications, education, skills, and experience.
