Position Description:

We are seeking a full-time CAD Specialist to join our dynamic and growing mechanical engineering consulting practice. Services performed under this contract will be for the Gutherie Army Health Clinic, located in Fort Drum, NY. Services shall also support work required for outlying facilities at Fort Drum.

This program involves both new construction projects and renovations of existing buildings. Some of the existing buildings are historic properties. The building types include federal office buildings, federal hospitals, clinics, laboratories, warehouses, and other types of real property. Project sizes range from small remodeling or repair projects to multi-million-dollar new buildings or renovations of major existing buildings. At any given time, the successful candidate can be expected to assist in CAD documentation review, update and generation for projects that are in various stages of development from pre-planning through design, construction procurement, construction, and post-construction. The CAD Specialist will work independently and is expected to manage own time and schedule.

Requirements:

The contractor shall perform on-site CAD services for Guthrie Army Health Clinic (GAHC).

The CAD Specialist must have a working knowledge of the medical design criteria, The Joint Commission requirements, the Uniform Facility Criteria (UFC's) and Federal Building Code requirements.

The CAD Specialist performs the following on ALL contracted services from small repair jobs to major renovations and MILCON projects: Develops and provides the scope of work, blueprint renderings, reviews and provides independent cost estimates, when required. Reviews documents for building and jointmission codepliance, and reviews as-built drawings.

This position uses CAD software and printing that is not currentlypliant with our governmentputer servers. The software alone is 20K annually and does not include the specialized equipment needed. Our in-house staff does not have all the necessary certifications to perform the elements mentioned above.

The CAD Specialist will attend meetings, as requested by the Facility Manager.
