Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Buildings MEP group in our Philadelphia, PA office. The Mechanical Engineer will work alongside engineers and architects as part of a design team applying mechanical engineering principles towards the successful design of low to mid-rise new construction projects, as well as evaluating existing buildings for renovations or reuse.
We provide a full range of mechanical engineering services to municipal, commercial, higher education and public works agencies, partnering with clients to design buildings from the ground-up or to renovate existing buildings to optimize their use. Responsibilities- Acquire knowledge and develop basic skills in building HVAC and plumbing design.
- Apply learned techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
- Demonstrate the ability to prepare low-level complexity general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply the fundamentals of Mechanical engineering concepts and principles to assigned design tasks.
- Assist with other project related tasks such as field work, design, documentation, coordination, and CAD work.
- Exercise judgment on details of work and work under direct supervision on all aspects of tasks assigned.
- Work within Revit and AutoCAD to successfully produce construction documents within established budgets and deadlines.
- Perform site visits and field investigations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering with Mechanical Emphasis from an ABET accredited University.
- 1-3 years' experience.
- Engineering in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
- Experience in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Demonstrate basic investigative, analytical and research skills.
- Demonstrate general computer skills, knowledge and acumen (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, design software, etc.).
- Ability to learn and apply technical skills and knowledge.
- Ability to effectively work as part of a team (i.e. collaborate, contribute, respect others).
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, principles and practices.
- Demonstrate basic, general writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
