The Press Brake Operator will fabricate metal products and equipment, such as brackets, kits, piping, vessel components, etc. Their work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, drill and straighten metal; shaping metal with the use of saws, press brakes, roll formers, drills, etc. Our Fabricators work in a team environment but are also required to perform duties autonomously and with a quality first focus. Work hours are Monday Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm with occasional overtime required and occasional Saturday.
Job Duties:
- Determine project requirements according to blueprints/engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions
- Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, according to drawings or templates, using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape sheet metal
- Select and install appropriate tooling for each job
- Measure and inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
- Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to achieve desired results
- Monitor machine operation and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Transport prefabricated parts to production cells for assembly and installation
Education and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or GED required, certificate or associates degree in Fabrication in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Previous experience operating press brake machines or similar equipment
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and ability to use a tape measure
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and processes
- Familiarity with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programming is a plus
- Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control
- Familiar with industrial safety environment and use of common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, welding helmet, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats (BETA will provide or reimburse)
- Physical Requirements using hands to handle, control or feel objects and tools, ability to read written instructions, lift and/or move materials up to 50 pounds independently
