Position Summary:

Under general supervision of Terminal Supervisor, the Terminal Operator is responsible for operating all Terminal and Reclamation equipment in connection with receiving, storing, transferring, and loading of refined petroleum products, and petroleum contact water in a reliable and efficient manner while in compliance with the Partnerships procedures and regulatory requirements.

Position Accountabilities:

Gauge storage tanks and take meter readings for all products on a daily basis

Provide top-tier customer service to commercial and operations customer representatives

Calculate and input all product inventories and meter readings into appropriate systems

Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of product inventories and thru-puts

Perform facility maintenance on office building, assets, vegetation, as needed

Perform the safe loading of petroleum products onto trucks and receive products from pipelines

Perform sampling and safe unloading of petroleum contaminated water.

Take product samples as required, and perform/log required Quality control tests

Perform and log all scheduled maintenance and compliance inspections

Ensure that all Terminal equipment is functioning properly and report failures to the supervisor

Ensure that all Reclamation equipment is functioning properly and report failures to the Supervisor

Operate the Dissolved Air Flotation for pretreatment of petroleum contaminated water

Operate the Biological Sequence Batch Reactor for final petroleum contaminated water processing.

Perform daily walk around inspections to identify potential risks and ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained

Correcting or stopping all unsafe acts or conditions not in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures by any party entering the facility

Remain knowledgeable of, and prepared to enact and coordinate the Emergency Response activities until relieved by supervisor or management personnel

Communicate product outages and equipment downtime to supervisors, customers, and other impacted parties in a prompt fashion

Education Requirement:

High school diploma or GED

Experience Requirement:

Effectively communicate with peers and management of various levels

Self-starter able work with little or no supervision

Able to use basic hand tools and operate basic product testing equipment

Proficient in mathematics and able to perform all required calculations

Proficient with Microsoft Suite

Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and written

Must have and maintain a valid drivers license for state of residence

Able to notice subtle Color differences in product samples

Must be willing and able to work as a part of team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedules, focus attention to details, and follow work rules

Working Conditions and Requirements:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Driving, walking, and standing - 30% of the day
  • Exposure to adverse weather - 10% of the day (when adverse weather is occurring)
  • Climb tanks using stairs to heights in excess of 60 feet once per day
  • Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, and require appropriate personal protective equipment 30% of the day ( activities during walking and standing)
  • Work on and around equipment and facilities that require knowledge of and adherence to safe work procedures and practices
  • Subject to call-outs to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays
  • Reliable attendance at work
