Job Summary
W e are seeking a Construction Site Manager to lead and oversee field activities at an industrial construction site. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring strong leadership in site management, safety enforcement, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in industrial or gas-related construction, a proactive safety mindset, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
Job Description
- Lead and manage daily site operations in coordination with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Production teams.
- Develop, issue, and maintain daily Hazardous Work Permits (HWPs).
- Conduct daily safety briefings and coordinate site activities with the Prime Contractor's Superintendent.
- Review and validate contractor Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Ensure all work aligns with contract specifications, engineering standards, and quality control protocols.
- Oversee QA/QC inspections, including NDE, hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing, radiography, and dye penetrant testing.
- Identify, track, and communicate construction issues and propose timely solutions.
- Maintain thorough documentation including SoWs, construction updates, inspection reports, and checklists.
- Ensure site compliance with OSHA regulations, building codes, safety policies, and legal requirements.
- Monitor equipment and material inventory; plan construction phases to ensure schedule adherence.
- Work closely with site teams to plan critical work and verify completion of LO/TO and energy control procedures.
- Conduct pre-startup inspections and maintain startup checklists.
- Provide regular project updates to management and respond effectively to site disruptions or emergencies.
Skills Required
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices and OSHA compliance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and contracts.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proactive problem-solving in high-pressure environments.
- Willingness and ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an outdoor industrial environment.
- Must provide own transportation to the site.
Preferred:
- 5+ years of experience in industrial field construction (Oil & Gas, Industrial Manufacturing, or Aerospace sectors preferred).
- Experience with cryogenics, including liquid nitrogen systems, high-pressure piping, and vaporization equipment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- 24 years of post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or related fields.
- Working knowledge of civil, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with construction methods, codes, and scheduling tools.
Education and Certifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in field construction or industrial environments.
Pay Rate
- $76 per hour
