Utility Project Manager

Job Description

Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Coordinator/Project Manager to lead complex utility projects from initiation through closeout. These projects encompass low voltage distribution work, both overhead and underground. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of projects within scope, schedule, and budget expectations. This position offers a hybrid work schedule with opportunities to work from various locations, including Grand Rapids, Lansing and Kalamazoo.

Responsibilities

• Leading all phases of project management: planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project execution.
• Track and manage project budgets, schedules, and risks.
• Prepare status reports, forecasts, and presentations for clients and leadership.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and industry standards.
• Mentor and support project team members including coordinators and field staff

• Experience related to utility work, including LVD, Substation, Transmission, Nat Gas, and underground utility.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or General Business
• 5+ years of project management and utility experience
• PMP certification or equivalent preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work schedule with initial office-based work, transitioning to a consistent hybrid model. Work locations include Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Lansing.

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
