Civil Project Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Civil Design Engineer to join an award-winning firm actively involved in building projects for the local community. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site design from conceptual through construction document phases utilizing AutoCAD software.
  • Conduct design calculations including water, sewer, storm drainage hydraulic modeling, SCMs, and erosion control, and prepare report figures and exhibits.
  • Review drawings, specifications, calculations, and other engineering documents.
  • Generate correspondence, attend meetings, and serve as a point of contact for clients, review agencies, contractors, the public, and design team members.
  • Prepare, submit, and track required site and utility permits.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices related to utilities operations, development, design, and construction.
  • Familiarity with current codes and regulatory standards governing building construction.
  • Proficiency in reading, updating, and maintaining various records and files.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various software applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skill in operating specialized software and office equipment, including large format plotters, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraflow, Bentley WaterCAD, and Microsoft Office/Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and establish strong working relationships.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited College/University.
  • NC Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • 5 to 15 years of experience specifically related to site design.
  • Motivation to interact successfully with clients, regulators, the public, and design team members.
  • Desire to collaborate with in-house Landscape Architects in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to pass a background check and legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $45.00/hr.
