Job Description

The Engineering Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in providing project administration support across all Lines of Business. This position demands a high level of personal character and integrity, and requires the candidate to be a team player. Key responsibilities include preparing proposals, pursuing work opportunities, preparing change requests, and overseeing project portfolio performance. The role involves liaising with supervisors, managers, client representatives, and the operations team to ensure efficient and effective project portfolio management.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with client, supervisors, managers, and the Engineering Project Coordinators team to develop project scopes, prepare budgets, answer RFPs, pursue work authorizations, and accept work authorizations.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers to determine project portfolio resource assignments and establish project budgets.
  • Ensure project estimates are prepared in alignment with workload, tasks, resource types, and estimating assumptions. Maintain and provide estimating tools to reflect these assumptions.
  • Oversee the portfolio of projects and resources for scope and change management. Track and communicate project scope changes initiated by internal teams or the client.
  • Analyze various KPI and metrics on project portfolio performance, such as CPI, SPI, deliverable milestones, and burn rate. Provide recommendations to supervisors and managers, resolving outstanding project portfolio management issues.
  • Work with the Engineering Project Cost Analyst and Employee Support Associate to identify and resolve timecard discrepancies and adjustments.
  • Coordinate and resolve project costing issues.
  • Collaborate as part of a team to administer various project portfolio management processes and procedures, recommending changes for continuous improvement.
  • Share best practices with the Engineering Project Coordinator Team across three different office locations.
  • Work independently and provide feedback to the direct manager for evidence-based decision making.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed based on business requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in project tracking, analysis, status reporting, and project documentation.
  • Ability to multitask and coordinate projects effectively.
  • Experience with project management, including budgeting and scope development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in project coordination or project management support functions.
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of projects and resources.
  • Thorough understanding of PMBOK project phases: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Control.

Work Environment

This role operates in a collaborative and dynamic environment, engaging with multiple teams across different office locations. The work involves using various project management tools and technologies to ensure efficient project coordination and administration.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.51/hr.
