Project Manager
Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager to support electric system distribution projects. This position involves managing various electric utility relocation projects in the surrounding area, requiring experience in project management across multiple customer and contractor-initiated projects. A general knowledge or willingness to learn the technical aspects of electric utility construction is essential, as you will serve as the subject matter expert while working with customers. You will also ensure adherence to safety compliance standards inherent in our operating and field procedures related to work responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Develop, manage, and forecast schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate resources and provide oversight and direction to team members.
  • Perform effective upfront project planning to minimize costs and change orders, identify risks, and maximize efficiency through negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Identify project scope and decide on logical actions to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Manage customer relationships as the primary point of contact.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Recognize technical issues impacting projects and develop plans to mitigate risks.
  • Facilitate communication between service providers and internal customers.
  • Respond to customer concerns and work with appropriate parties for resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, design criteria, operation, and maintenance requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, service providers, EPC contractors, developers, and external entities to coordinate construction schedules and resources.
  • Support construction activities related to projects.
  • Report on project and program progress as directed.
  • Gather, consolidate, and analyze facts in relation to project requirements.
  • Support emergency response work as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience, including managing simple projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in scheduling, estimating, accounting, and finance principles.
  • Basic knowledge in project management discipline to manage multiple simple to medium complexity projects.
  • Customer-oriented with a positive, team-oriented and collaborative attitude.
  • Understanding of business issues driving the need for the project.
Work Environment

The role is remote, allowing employees to work from home, but they need to be local to the area.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
