TE4 Team Lead
This position is the Team Lead position for District Three Engineering's Design Team Three. This team is a Consultant Design Focused team and manages complex and non-complex consultant designed projects. The team is comprised of a TE4 Team Lead and subordinate staff. The Team Lead will report to the District Design Engineer. Additionally, this team designs and manages non-complex in-house designed projects.
What You Will Do:
- Lead a team of lower-level engineers and support staff in Project Management, Design, Plan Review, and other duties as assigned of complex and non-complex highway infrastructure projects.
- Be an open, available, and approachable resource for internal and external customers.
- Utilize computer software in daily tasks, including the Microsoft Suite, Open Roads Designer, ProjectWise, and others.
- Resolve, or assist in the resolution of personnel challenges
- Attend and promote appropriate training, including leadership and technical topics.
- Act as a mentor and roll-model for subordinate staff.
- Complete EIMS and Kronos review and approval for subordinate staff.
- Complete Performance Reviews for subordinate staff
- Act as a second to the District Contracts Manager - Be operationally aware of:
o The Programmatic Selection process
o Consultant Invoicing
o Consultant agreements and authorizations
o The Scope and Fee System (SAFe)
o Consultant Selection System (CSS)
o Consultant Evaluation System (CES)
o Internal consultant tracking
o Others as appropriate
- Perform as the Project Manager for complex and non-complex Consultant Designed highway infrastructure projects.
- Perform as the Designer and/or Project Manager for non-complex in-house designed highway infrastructure projects.
- Participate as part of the District Three Engineering Leadership Team.
- Assist other internal and external customers with the resolution of transportation issues as appropriate.

Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 yrs. exp. as group or project leader or supervisor providing work direction & training to employees engaged in engineering projects or 2 yrs. exp. in managing engineering research projects (i.e., managing research projects applies only to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.
- Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 3, 85643; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
