Position Title: Pipefitter HVAC

Purpose of the position

Will perform assigned pipefitting /HVAC duties as an Amentum employee onsite at the NASA Johnson Space Center.

Principal Responsibilities of the Position

• Referral must have a strong background in all Pipe Fitting work
• Must have through knowledge of all HVAC Systems

• Fit weld fittings
• Fit threaded fittings
• Fit MJ (mechanical joint) fittings
• Use Oxy-Gas torch
• Operation Rigid 535 pipe machine
• Fit copper fittings
• Bolt-up flanges
• Sweat copper
• Take off for 4 standard 45 butt-weld

Education and Other Experience Requirements

• Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment testing and background checks.
• Must be approved to be badged by NASA/JSC in order to work on-site.
• Referral must provide documentation to support qualifications.
• Insuring quality and completeness of work as well as insuring areas worked are clean, neat and ready for Customers needs when complete.
• Must have, and maintain, Valid Drivers License
• Must a High School Diploma or GED or 5 years of relevant work experience.

Special Knowledge and Skills Required

• This position is located onsite at NASA JSC and requires US Citizenship.
• Clean, neat and professional personal appearance.
• Must pass Asbestos physical and be able to wear a respirator as needed.
• Will ensure quality and completeness of work in a safe and timely manner as well as insuring areas worked are clean, neat and ready for Customers needs when complete.

Physical Requirements

• Must have the ability to communicate the English language both verbally and written in an effective manner.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Dexterity to operate office and field equipment as required by the position.
• In good physical shape/condition for climbing in and out of tight restricted working areas, as applicable.

Preferences

• Prior knowledge of NASA site experienced with working on government installations preferred.
