Structural Design Engineer – Full-Time
Location: Tullahoma, TN
Clearance Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team supporting the design and construction of a new high-performance testing facility for the United States Air Force. This role is integral to modernization and test operations, ensuring that all structural design efforts are executed with precision, innovation, and compliance.
Key Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance
Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Must have 7+ years of relevant structural design experience
Must be willing to obtain a Tennessee PE license
Must have advanced proficiency with STAAD or STAAD.Pro
Must have a clean background suitable for high-security work environments
Job Responsibilities:
Serve as a lead structural design engineer, working under the direction of the Discipline Lead Engineer
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and structural designers/drafters
Analyze structural systems and develop sound technical solutions for advanced and complex challenges
Perform and review calculations and engineering analyses for concrete, steel, and foundation systems
Prepare and review engineering specifications and design criteria
Support procurement and subcontracting activities including technical evaluations and vendor submittals
Assist with construction phase engineering support including RFIs and field modifications
Ensure designs comply with project quality plans, schedules, cost baselines, and safety protocols
Maintain strong communication and coordination across disciplines and with clients
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (Tennessee PE or ability to obtain)
Strong knowledge of concrete and foundation design, wind and seismic loading, and structural modeling
Experience with Department of Defense or U.S. Federal Government projects
Familiarity with EPC projects in sectors such as manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology
Proven experience in managing large-scale projects from design through construction
Field experience, project scheduling, and cost estimating proficiency
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with site and company policy
Practical experience with material procurement, vendor coordination, and field support is a plus
