Food Safety Role & Responsibility:

As an individual, the incumbent must understand the Food Safety Statement, complete the required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training and display an acceptable level of competency with all Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies and training requirements. Areas of food safety training will include, but are not limited to, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000/Global Food Safety Policy/Food Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Blood borne Pathogens.

The individual must also request additional and/or refresher training if he or she feels that it is needed to effectively perform requirements in specific areas of responsibility.

Summary:

Responsible for maintenance of Vacuum Tube Cooling systems, refrigerated warehouse and process spaces, refrigerated production processes and all related refrigeration equipment (compressors, condensers, evaporators, valve sets, vessels, insulation repair, process controls, electrical troubleshooting).

Job Function Statements Essential Functions:

Performs standard repair and maintenance on all vacuum cooling processes, ammonia refrigeration, halocarbon refrigeration, and vacuum pumps at the facility.

Troubleshoots process controls to the PLC level as required.

Ensures proper water treatment practices relative to the condensing tower.

May serve as team lead on more complex projects or independently perform standard assignments either for a single area of the plant or across departments as needed.

Must Uses computer based programs to support various activities.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

Experience with vacuum cooling processes, ammonia refrigeration, halocarbon refrigeration and vacuum pumps, is required.

Knowledge of electrical power maintenance (480V) and process controls troubleshooting (PLC level to the device level) required.

Basic knowledge of condensing tower water treatment practices required.

Must own personal tools and be capable of working with a team.

Able to use PC with basic skills in word processing and e-mail and able to support the use of an electronic PC based maintenance program.

Mechanical experience.

Vacuum tube tear down and assembly experience.

Vacuum pumps, refrigeration compressors, air compressors, condensers, purging, and water treatment.

Forklift certification.

This position will require computer skills for inputting of work, schedule, and work orders using D7i, Maintenance software.

Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Desired Qualifications/Skills:

Experience with HVAC system operation and maintenance a plus.

Experience with compressed air systems, nitrogen systems, Industrial waste water, potable water systems, and boiler operations a plus.

RETA certified by the third year in position.

Experience:

Must have worked in a fast-paced, fresh-food processing environment on process/production equipment for a minimum of 2 years or equivalent.
