Scope of Work:

The primary purpose of this position is to execute design and construction projects at the U.S. Air Force Academy

(USAFA) and auxiliary sites.

Requirements:

• Efficiently and effectively operate heavy trucks, heavy truck equivalents, and smaller equipment, but

not limited to: dump trucks/dump trucks with attachments, asphalt rollers, forklifts.

• Perform equipment checks as required to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in safe

operating condition. Notates any repair or maintenance needed and notifies vehicle maintenance

facility of any deficiencies prior to operation.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have ability to embrace vison and develop strategies for continuous improvement.

• 2 Year Vocational Degree or Equivalent Military Experience with 2 years of work-related skills,

knowledge, and experience OR 5 years of direct work-related skills, certifications, knowledge, and

experience

• Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Commercial Driver’s License Class “B” required.

• Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background

check.

• Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.

• Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.

• Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety

practices.

• Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold/heat, etc.).

• Must be able to perform stand-by duties when scheduled and report to work within one hour of

notification.

• Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission

requirements of the customer to include weekends and holidays.

• Physically fit to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift up to 60 lbs.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

• Performs all assigned duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and directives.

Displays courtesy and skill in dealing with internal and external customers, coworkers, and

management.

• Accurately maintains and updates records to enable quick and efficient retrieval of information.

Follows up on suspense items to ensure timely completion.

• Consistently produces quality products and services. Ability to work independently while maintaining

quality performance.

• Complete all training within the required timeline. Perform all work in a safe and secure manner.

• Demonstrates dependability in all aspects of work. Must be able to carry out oral and written

instructions in an acceptable manner.

• Must follow prescribed standards of dress, hygiene, and conduct while representing the company.

• Resolves problems promptly with minimal adverse impact on the functional operation.

Training:

• All conferences, workshops and seminars as deemed necessary by the supervisor or the position. Completes

all safety, anti-terrorism, fire extinguisher, asbestos awareness, and any other local, state, federal,

installation required, and any other training deemed necessary by the supervisor or position.
