We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Building Manager to manage the facility operations of the Verizon 5G Performance Center. This role requires a proactive, solutions-oriented leader who can anticipate facility needs, respond quickly to issues, and create a safe, functional, and high-performing environment for Player 15 Group team members.
What You Will Do:- Oversee daily operations of all facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire suppression/protection, and access control of the Verizon 5G Performance Center.
- Coordinate and supervise routine maintenance, repairs, and custodial operations to ensure facilities remain functional, safe, and clean.
- Create and manage proactive maintenance programs to detect and resolve issues early.
- Conduct regular facility inspections and prepare detailed reports on building condition, safety compliance, and performance metrics.
- Lead emergency planning initiatives, including training, safety drills, evacuation route development, and fire/flood hazard mitigation.
- Supervise facility staff including cleaning, security, and operations personnel; evaluate performance and ensure compliance with League and Company procedures and expectations.
- Coordinate and lead events hosted at the performance center.
- Manage parking lot access, space allocation, and related logistics.
- Liaise with third-party vendors and contractors to negotiate services and ensure timely, high-quality work.
- Collaborate with internal departments to address facility technology needs and implement enhancements.
- Prepare and monitor annual maintenance budgets and provide cost estimates for weekly and yearly planning.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant safety standards, building codes, policies, and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of facility conditions, repairs, safety inspections, and compliance reports.
- Provide timely responses to staff inquiries, troubleshoot facility-related issues, and deliver exceptional internal customer service.
- Uphold and promote a culture of safety, preventative care, and operational excellence throughout the facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A commitment to maintain the safety and privacy of the staff, guests and athletes that access the facility.
- Strong knowledge of building systems and facility operations, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage vendors, and handle multiple priorities under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and facility management software.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license required (or must be obtained by first day of employment).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and strategic delegation capabilities.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, safety regulations, and building codes.
- Experience in a professional sports or performance center environment is a plus.
- IAVM or Other building management certification is also a plus.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in facilities, building management, or a similar role.
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in business administration, facilities management, or related field preferred.
