Mechanical Drafter
Job Description

The mechanical drafter will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical drawings and designs based on input from mechanical engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed mechanical drawings and designs using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor.
  • Prepare 2D and 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Develop layouts, schematics, and diagrams based on engineering specifications.
  • Generate and maintain accurate and comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and specifications.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve designs and processes.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
  • Perform quality checks on drawings and designs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Revise drawings based on feedback and changes in project scope or requirements.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical design and drafting technologies.
  • Propose and implement improvements to design processes and tools.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with AutoCAD.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Experience in designing around sheet metal and assembly components for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Experience in creating Bills of Materials (BOMs) for a minimum of 3 years.

  • Strong mechanical drafting and design skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and project managers.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement in design processes and tools.
Work Environment

The position requires working on-site with no hybrid options available.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
