Assistant Superintendent
Job Description

This role is responsible for supporting the Project Superintendent in overseeing the complete construction process to ensure projects are completed in accordance with the design, budget, schedule, and safety requirements. The Assistant Superintendent may need to take full responsibility for certain projects as directed by the General Superintendent. A company vehicle will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Superintendent in supervising construction efforts.
  • Ensure projects adhere to design, budget, schedule, and safety standards.
  • Take full responsibility for projects when requested.
  • Manage subcontractors and oversee commercial construction efforts.
  • Travel throughout the Southeast region as required.
  • Maintain project documentation, including resumes and project lists.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; Bachelors degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.
  • Valid state-issued drivers license.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in commercial construction, including 2 years at a supervisory level.
  • Experience with projects valued at $10-15 million or more.
  • Current OSHA Construction 10-Hour certification.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to read, understand, and implement construction documents.
  • Competency in mathematics and ability to perform calculations quickly and accurately.
  • Excellent supervisory skills capable of managing up to 30 employees and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based applications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to operate construction equipment such as pickup trucks, backhoes, scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and skid steers.
  • Completion of Tennessee Drug-Free Workplace Supervisor Training within 6 months of employment.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to produce quality work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Work Environment

The work environment primarily involves fieldwork, requiring flexibility to work Monday through Friday, eight to nine hours per day, and occasionally on weekends. The position demands being on-call 24/7 for project site emergencies. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.07/hr.
