Job Description The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all electrical construction activities on-site to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise electrical subcontractors and field crews.
- Review and interpret construction documents, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Develop and maintain short-term (12 week) look-ahead schedules and site logistics plans.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and company safety policies.
- Conduct daily pre-task planning and weekly safety meetings.
- Coordinate with the Site Superintendent and Safety Director to implement site-specific safety plans.
- Verify that all tools, equipment, and personnel are qualified and prepared for assigned tasks.
- Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Monitor progress and quality of electrical installations and energization tasks.
- Maintain clear communication with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee loop checks, point-to-point testing, and instrumentation calibration.
- Deep understanding of electrical systems, including low and medium voltage.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and OSHA safety regulations.
- Experience in developing and managing construction schedules.
- Strong leadership skills in supervising field operations and managing subcontractor performance.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical construction.
- Electrical Journeyman License.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and construction practices.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and adapt to field challenges.
