Electrical Superintendent

The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all electrical construction activities on-site to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise electrical subcontractors and field crews.
• Review and interpret construction documents, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Develop and maintain short-term (12 week) look-ahead schedules and site logistics plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and company safety policies.
• Conduct daily pre-task planning and weekly safety meetings.
• Coordinate with the Site Superintendent and Safety Director to implement site-specific safety plans.
• Verify that all tools, equipment, and personnel are qualified and prepared for assigned tasks.
• Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Monitor progress and quality of electrical installations and energization tasks.
• Maintain clear communication with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee loop checks, point-to-point testing, and instrumentation calibration.

• Deep understanding of electrical systems, including low and medium voltage.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and OSHA safety regulations.
• Experience in developing and managing construction schedules.
• Strong leadership skills in supervising field operations and managing subcontractor performance.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical construction.
• Electrical Journeyman License.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and construction practices.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and adapt to field challenges.

This position is based at an active construction site, specifically focusing on K-12 school projects. The environment is dynamic and requires adherence to safety standards while coordinating with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
