Quality & Operations Manager Roofing & Solar

Key Responsibilities
Oversee end-to-end operations: project planning, scheduling, procurement, installations, repairs, and permitting.
Manage and grow the installation team (currently 11 staff).
Ensure installation quality through audits, training, and process improvement.
Support system design and provide technical guidance to crews.
Track and report operational metrics (e.g., labor per kW or square foot).
Maintain operational assets including vehicles, tools, and facilities.
Spend ~75% of time in-office and ~25% in the field.
Long-Term Opportunities
Contribute to product development and integrated roofing/solar business models.
Help expand solar offerings to roofing customers.
Innovate within a small, agile team focused on local business empowerment.
Qualifications
5+ years in solar/electrical installation; 3+ years in management.
Strong knowledge of AC/DC systems, inverters, batteries, and mounting systems.
Proficient with blueprints, schematics, and Google Workspace tools.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience with various roofing types is a plus.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful but not required.
Valid CA drivers license and clean driving record.
Education
College degree or equivalent preferred (Construction Mgmt., Operations, Business).
Vocational or technical training is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Comfortable working at heights and in extreme environments.
Able to lift 50+ lbs and meet OSHA safety standards.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary up to $128,000 DOE + performance bonuses
