Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Mechanic to join our hospitals facilities team. This individual will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various building systems and equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable, and fully operational environment for patients, staff, and visitors Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, medical gas systems, and mechanical equipment.
Inspect and repair hospital infrastructure including doors, windows, walls, ceilings, and flooring.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care.
Maintain and troubleshoot pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, air handlers, and other hospital utility systems.
Ensure compliance with safety codes, infection control standards, and local/state/federal regulations.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and equipment service history.
Collaborate with contractors and vendors on major repairs or installations.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment for special events or relocations within the hospital.
Support the hospitals emergency preparedness plan and participate in drills and disaster response as needed.
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical school training or trade certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
Working knowledge of safety practices, mechanical systems, and applicable building codes.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Basic computer literacy for work order systems and documentation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Must be physically able to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
