Instrument/Electrical Supervisor. This position provides daily coaching, guidance and direction for the I&E group and ensures resources and tools are a 24/7 service and solution provider for the refinery.

Instrument/Electrical Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Provides effective daily supervision, coaching, guidance, and mentorship to I&E personnel in the spirit of continued growth and development.
  • Provides leadership to the I&E employees for the installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all instrument and electrical related equipment.
  • Organizes daily work assignment, effectively manages resources and enforces safe work practices.
  • Works closely with Operations to define and understand special needs for plant support.
  • Works with Planners to schedule and prepare for project work.
  • Coordinates with engineering and maintenance groups to recommend spare parts for critical and non-critical repairs of instrumentation and electrical equipment.
  • Specifies, purchases, installs and maintains measurement and control instruments and analytical equipment to meet data acquisition and communication requirements.
  • Participates in the development and stewardship of capital and expense budgets.
  • Interprets and seeks total compliance to all NEC, OSHA, state and federal regulations as pertaining to instrumentation and electrical activities.
  • Coordinates and controls the Calibration Program as directed by PSM and ISO requirements.
  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures and continues improvement programs.
  • Identifies gaps in training, quality, resources, programs, etc. and recommends improvements.
  • Maintains good working relationships with co-workers and vendors.

Instrument/Electrical Supervisor Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 10 years experience in an Instrument / Electrical maintenance setting is preferred
  • 5 years experience in the petrochemical industry is preferred
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Above average experience with Microsoft products
  • Requires a self-motivated person that pays attention to details with excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Organized and capable of planning, scheduling and prioritizing activities.
  • Must be available for off hours facility support.
