Plant Maintenance Mechanic - James Hardie, Peru, IL

James Hardie, a leader in fiber cement technology, is seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Peru, IL. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our innovative manufacturing processes and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute predictive and preventative maintenance programs for critical machinery and equipment
  • Repair and maintain bucket elevators, conveyors, compressors, pumps, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
  • Ensure efficient operation of machinery to maintain production quality and output
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Perform equipment dismantling and parts replacement using hoists, cranes, and specialized tools
  • Manage inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Minimum 5 years of heavy industrial mechanical and millwright experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and fault-free analysis techniques
