As a Construction Inspector, you will:
- Reviews construction plans, surveys, and specifications.
- Conducts field, on-site, and materials inspections.
- Review documentation for payment of work performed.
- Interacts with the public and maintains positive communications and public relations on all facets of public infrastructure construction projects.
- Reviews field construction for compliance with City design and construction standards, approved construction documents and applicable federal, state and local codes and regulations, and makes recommendations to the Construction Manager on same.
- Completes all associated records and reports and ensures proper documentation of all construction projects. Confirms project completion, acquisition of all final documentation, begins onset of initial and final acceptance of development projects.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Construction Manager.
- Required to work as an essential employee before, during and after an emergency or disaster, whether natural or acts of war.
Formal Education:
- High School graduate, possession of GED or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience in inspections of public infrastructure improvements or construction.
Relatable Work Experience:
- Previous municipal experience is preferred.
Training (License and/or Certification):
- Must possess a valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
- Class C Water Distribution and Class III Wastewater Collection Licenses Issued by TCEQ are preferred.
