Job Description
MGC Contractors, Inc is looking for experienced Contract Administrator to join our Central Texas Division. The Contract Administrator is directly responsible for the administration and evaluation of contracts to ensure that contracts entered into by the Company meet the Company's business objectives and comply with statutory obligations and requirements. The Contract Administrator's objective is to reduce costs and increase profits while complying with the law and mitigate the Company's risk exposure.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and federal/state employment legislation and insures company compliance.
- Takes sufficient steps to mitigate and minimize project and contract risks.
- Coordinate with and support the Project Managers and Project Team to ensure the contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders are executed properly.
- Support contract negotiations, support resolution of claims or disputes.
- Ensure compliance with the Company's standards, policies and procedures.
- Maintains high ethical standards.
- Any and all other duties assigned.
KNOWLEGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Knowledge of the general policies and practices of construction companies.
- Advanced computer knowledge including Microsoft Office software.
- Advanced knowledge in the field of Construction Contracts.
- Fundamental knowledge of construction techniques, building materials, standards and equipment.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents, financial reports, technical documents and insurance certificates.
- Basic understanding of purchasing and supply chain procedures.
- Time management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personnel in a diverse work community.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position operates in a professional office environment that routinely uses standard office equipment requiring the ability to communicate in person and over the telephone with other employees, the ability to interpret printed materials and a computer screen, the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, the ability to lift and carry supplies and files weighing up to 10 pounds and to move about the inside of the office to access supplies, office machinery, etc.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This is a full-time, salary exempt position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of work experience as a Contract Management, Contract Administration or another contracting role.
- Bachelor's degree in contract management or business administration
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and ability.
- Strong candidates should have professional certification through National Contract Management Association, CPCM certification.
