Eaton's AER MSD Mission System Division division is currently seeking a Engineering Technician.

The hours for this role are 7:00am - 3:30pm

The hourly rate for this position is $31.00-$36.00 per hour.

What you'll do:

The Engineering Technician will participate in the Westminster Integrated Product Team (IPT) efforts to develop, design and deliver new Eaton Products as well as deploy existing product variants. Products include but are not limited composite overwrapped pressure vessels and composite structures for use by Fire Fighters/First Responders, Military Personnel, Aircraft, Launch Vehicles, Satellites, Manned Space Missions to name a few.

The candidate will report into the Site Development Engineering Manager and work in conjunction with Production Support Personnel, Our Business Team, and Design Engineers. Daily tasks include creation / revision of Drawings and Solid Models, Manufacturing Support Documents. Assignments can range to moderate difficulty and may require judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. The candidate will be expected to have competency in SolidWorks and have working knowledge on PLM tools. Mentoring and training new employees in completing assigned tasks is also part of the job. Mission Systems Orchard Park is an AS9100 & ISO9001 Facility.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, including the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

What you'll do:

  • Generate layouts, drawings, and sketches for fabrication of engineering designs including 2-D and 3-D drafting, detailing, part labeling, and mechanical stack up tolerance analysis.
  • Complete Bill-of-Materials and Routers within Manufacturing Enterprise System MRP to convey product requirements to organization.
  • Assist existing product lines, support production documentation issues, maintain work instructions, configure parts for order intake, and participate in our Contract acceptance process.
  • Directly support and facilitate the release and configuration control of site documents including but not limited to Engineering Change Orders, manufacturing plans, procedures, winding patterns, cure profiles, and test parameters
  • Participate and assist senior designer(s) and lead engineers with preparation of design review packages (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, PRR, etc.) for internal/external customers and management.

Qualifications:

Qualifications and Experience

  • AA / AS in Mechanical or Electrical Technology (ACCS or HLC) + 5 years of Product Design (preferred)
  • 5+ years of SolidWorks (preferred) and 5+ years of commercial, aerospace, military product design
  • Military Background a plus (Preferred)
  • US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident.

  • SolidWorks Certification - CSWP or higher preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills (communication, motivation, team working).
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Reporting clear, accurate and timely information
  • Effectiveness and relevance of data maintained and reported
  • Maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Correctly assessing situations, problems and opportunities and comprehending the actions required
