We are currently searching for a Manufacturing Operator for our Springfield Mo Facility. Co-workers in this classification are required to have an entry level knowledge of ordinary machine shop operations.
Essential Job Functions
- Operate basic machine shop equipment including band saws, belt sanders, blast cabinet, etc.
- Deliver parts to other departments with a scooter and/or fork truck
- Perform janitorial work
- Load and unload trucks delivering raw material
- Mark incoming material with part number and heat code
- Stock material in raw material racks
- Operate machine shop equipment on simple, long run jobs where the setup is already done
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
- Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position
- Overtime is a mandatory condition of employment and frequent in this position
- Spray for weeds in the raw material yard
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies)
- Knowledge of Paul Mueller Company general work procedures in regards to marking and tagging material with proper work order number and heat codes as required
- Basic blueprint reading knowledge
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read a tape measure
Education and Experience
- HS diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Base Compensation Range: $16.50 - $18.83 per hour
Shift Differential: 10%
Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary base on company performance (as of 2024).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Exposure to conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and high-degree varying seasonal temperatures. Machinery with energy sources including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, or other energy.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, handle, grasp or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Additional effort requirements consist of, but are not limited to, lifting, pushing and pulling material, stairs, and ladders. When there is an occasion to move heavy material greater than 50 pounds, the operator will request assistance from another operator, or utilize provided lifting equipment.
