$24.18 to $26.60 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and may include overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs skilled crafts and trades work in the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of facility and/or industrial electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
REQUIREMENTS : Four (4) years of experience working with commercial or industrial electrical systems; OR successful completion of a documented hands-on four (4) years [2,000 hours per year] on-the-job apprenticeship training program working with a licensed electrical contractor. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida drivers license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, a valid Brevard County Journeymans Electrical license or a valid active State of Florida Electrical Contractors license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be physically capable at all times of wearing and utilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must be able to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, when necessary. Must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check administered by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
