Job Summary:
Performs duties to set-up and operate all aspects of the Tube Mill to meet customer requirements and production standards
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Tube Mill Operator is responsible for Quality.
- Oversees, instructs, assists, and trains Mill Crew, Focusing on Safety and Quality.
- Ensures correct material is being used and the ECT is working properly.
- All open seam and end welds are scraped or segregated from prime material.
- Position involves some lifting, pushing, and pulling, bending, and twisting.
- Responsible for timely completion of set-up’s and change overs.
- Reports any quality concerns, steel shortages, tooling wear, scheduling conflicts, excessive stock, or Maintenance issues to the shift Supervisor/Foreman.
- Continuously monitors the tube to ensure it meets customer requirements. Performs inspection and sorting procedures in the event product is manufactured that does not meet quality requirements.
- Accurately completes all production records including creating tags and issuing slit coils.
- Maintains housekeeping standards.
- Uses common hand and power tools as required.
- Works carefully, observing all safety procedures.
- All other work as assigned by the shift Supervisor/Foreman.
- Receives direction from shift Supervisor.
The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and Responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- 520 Hours of Mill End Welder experience or equivalent.
- 1040 Hours of Mill Cut-off Operator experience or equivalent.
- 2080 Hours of Mill Operator Trainee Alternate experience or equivalent.
- 2080 Hours of Mill Category 2 experience or equivalent for classification.
