This position will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial facilities. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to ensure high-quality service delivery. Responsible for managing team operations, maintaining project schedules, ensuring safety standards are met, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in HVAC systems, a proven track record of leadership, and a strong commitment to team development and customer satisfaction.
  • Supervises and leads a team of HVAC technicians, ensuring they perform their duties according to company standards and safety regulations.
  • Assigns tasks to HVAC technicians and monitors their performance to ensure work is completed efficiently and within budget.
  • In some cases, the supervisor may serve as a liaison for location management to contact outside AC vendor to complete work depending on availability and expertise of the internal team.
  • Ensures compliance with safety codes, regulations, and industry standards, including OSHA and local building codes, to ensure a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Provides hands-on guidance and technical support to technicians in troubleshooting, installations, repairs, and system maintenance.
  • Inspects completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to company policies.
  • Develops and implements training programs for new and existing team members to improve technical knowledge and customer service skills.
  • Manages HVAC projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring that work is completed on time and within cost estimates.
  • Maintains inventory of HVAC parts and equipment, ensuring that necessary materials are available and used efficiently.
  • Reviews and approves service reports, work orders, and estimates, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to clients.
  • Conducts performance evaluations of HVAC technicians, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement or further development.
  • Ensures proper documentation of all work performed, including service records, jobs being referred externally, maintenance logs, and safety inspections.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining operational procedures, processes, and standards to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards and regulations, including local and federal codes, as well as manufacturer guidelines.
  • Collaborates with HVAC technicians to complete installations or repairs in a timely manner.

MINIMUM Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Certification/License

  • Valid HVAC-R Technician License (Type A or B) required
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required
  • Valid state drivers license in good standing required

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in commercial HVAC required
  • 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience in managing, training, and mentoring a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Work CONDITIONS

Work Environment
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity.
  • Work may be required in confined spaces, on rooftops, and in attics or basements.
  • Use of safety equipment such as gloves, goggles, and protective footwear.
  • Must be comfortable working with high-voltage electrical systems and potentially hazardous materials such as refrigerants.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on workload and emergency service needs.
  • On-call rotation may be part of the position.
  • May support multiple parks or sites requiring local travel

  • Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently
