Mechanical Specialties Contractors is seeking a Project Engineer that will direct and coordinate the engineering and design of assigned projects along with technical aspects of the contract. They will coordinate timely decision making on project technical issues and will establish and manage the technical interface between all parties involved in the project including Engineers and Project Managers. The position will also have responsibility for developing and implementing sales support processes including specification review, generation of accurate cost estimates, proposal generation, and post-project job profitability analysis.

Key Duties:

  • Manage Document Control for multiple projects
  • Communicate with customer/site Project Managers and Engineers
  • Prepare RFI’s and Submittals per Project design requirements
  • Prepare Project Schedules in conjunction with Project Team
  • Review Piping Plans and ISO drawings for submittal to customer and turn over packages
  • Present requisitions and data sheets for Project materials
  • Redline drawings for construction and “As Built” this includes piping systems and electrical drawings
  • Help design new product lines for the Manufacturing function of the company
  • Interpret various types of design documents and summarize requirements for BID Team
  • Provide BID break down formats for RFP documentation
  • Review Project/Site specifications and summarize for Project Team
  • Perform equipment and component sizing ei: Pumps, Orifices, PRV and etc
  • Create Change Order documentation and pricing structure
  • Provide “take offs” for Project Managers and assist in estimation processes
  • Asist in Pre-Construction planning
  • Any task deemed critical by Company Management
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in Engineering or heavy High Purity Process Piping job management experience ready for the next step up in responsibility
  • Sales and Business Development experience
  • Experience/acumen for designing and implementing sales and operational processes
  • Team Oriented mindset
  • Growth mindset
  • Ability to create and interpret complicated and complex system documentation ei: Drawings, Inventory, Quotes, Take Offs, RFI and Submittal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e., Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Experience using AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Revit
  • Excellent organization, communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Scheduling and time management skills.
  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
  • Work in a team environment with high safety and quality standards.
