Job Title: Civil CAD Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a Civil Engineering Technician who, under close supervision, will perform basic functions requiring technical knowledge using electronic applications, processes, standards, and document control procedures. The role involves creating or modifying deliverables, evaluating methods for drafting and/or design activities, and assisting with development site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D. Projects include ductwork for underground transmission line projects ranging from a few hundred feet to several miles long.
Responsibilities
- Continue to learn and apply engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that deliverables are accurate and compliant by continually developing knowledge of the company quality program.
- Demonstrate personal accuracy and support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Broaden knowledge of applications required to modify and develop less complex deliverables based on various design inputs.
- Assist with minor computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
- Coordinate deliverables with other groups involved in the same project to minimize interference or errors.
- Focus on the needs of internal clients while gaining a basic understanding of external clients' main interests and drivers.
- Proactively seek and share knowledge of the latest technologies and processes.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D with 2-5+ years of drafting experience preferred (candidates with 1 year of experience encouraged to apply).
- Experience utilizing plan (horizontal) and profile (vertical) views is preferred.
- Experience in the power industry, specifically working within underground transmission, is preferred but not required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in relevant drafting and design.
- Strong communication skills are essential for a collaborative team environment.
- Strong organizational skills are needed to meet timeline constraints for projects and collaborate effectively with team members.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.06/hr.
