The Integrated Design and Advisory business vertical is one of the business verticals at Michael Baker International with more than 850 professionals located across the country. Established as a national professional and consulting services delivery platform, we unite architecture and engineering design expertise with strategic advisory services to deliver holistic and innovative solutions that address the business and project objectives of our clients. Integrated Design leverages the early involvement of all project stakeholders and key disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural and fire protection (MEP+S+FP) engineering, as well as architecture and planning. Our Advisory capabilities include providing solutions across the project life cycle along with resilience services. DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering team. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic Electrical Engineer with responsibilities including design and documentation for a broad range of product types. With a current focus on growing Federal, Department of Defense, Life Sciences, Education, Special Projects and Commercial project opportunities, along with market-driven diversification including Healthcare, and Industrial, they will work in multi-disciplinary, collaborative project design teams with architects, interior designers, civil engineers, and building systems engineers. They must demonstrate organizational skills, an ability to work in a team environment, and an advanced understanding of construction documents and constructability.
- Provide electrical designs at a level of competence of being in responsible charge of the design; stamp and seal documents; field technical questions; peer review electrical designs
- Play an integral part in preparation of proposals, qualifications submittals, and interview presentations
- Schedule and facilitate or participate in kick off meetings
- Train and oversee the work of less experienced electrical engineers, designers, and CAD technicians
- Establish and meet timelines and deadlines, prepare construction documents and reports, coordinate with sub-consultants, coordinate final production, and delivery of electrical designs
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of related experience
- Effective visual / verbal communication skills
- Possess a proficient understanding of inter-relationships among design & engineering disciplines, clients, and constructors
- Engineering software experience (SKM, Easypower, AGI32, Elumtools)
- Knowledge of Revit or Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Knowledge of Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Team, and SharePoint
- PE License Required
- US Citizenship Required
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $92,000- $125,000. The actual salary offered will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
Workplace Flexibility
The position can be located in multiple locations, dependent on project needs. Remote and Hybrid work is also supported.
