Job Description:
The Associate Vice President of Residential Land Development is responsible for the supervision and management of residential land development projects, ensuring they meet contractual agreements with clients, remain within budget, and adhere to established schedules. This role involves leading a team of engineers and technical professionals while actively engaging with professional associations and community organizations.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials, and community leaders.
Direct and oversee residential projects through a team of subordinate project managers.
Recommend facilities, personnel, and funds required to carry out programs.
Prepare proposals and client agreements.
Monitor project tasks, budgets, and schedules with Senior Project Managers and Project Managers.
Collaborate with project sponsors to define projects, identify expected outcomes, and establish project schedules.
Monitor project performance and report status to stakeholders.
Lead and direct work of other employees and responsible for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
Participate in developing company design and production standards.
Actively participate in professional associations and civic organizations.
Skills/Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of design and construction practices.
Proven ability to effectively communicate, both oral and written skills, with all levels of employees in an organization.
Proven ability to lead a team of engineers, surveyors, and support personnel.
Project management skills
Ability to build collaborative relationships.
Experience and Education
15 years experience managing substantial projects from conception to completion; at least 10 of those years managing projects.
Bachelor of Science degree in civil or agricultural engineering or a related field.
