TITLE: Senior Project Engineer - Construction (multiple openings)

Duties: Perform a variety of Building & Construction assignments that include independent evaluations using standard techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment to make minor adoptions and modifications to these standards. Make decisions and recommendations in reference to proposals and reports. Prepare and review engineering reports, project plans and specifications prepared by others. Assign work /tasks to staff. Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments. Prepare proposals to provide professional services. Review recommendations with Principal Consultant. Maintain and leverage client relationships and develops new project opportunities. Attend client site meetings. Communicate effectively with client and project teams. Work on one or multiple projects at a time. Train Technicians and other Technical staff. May perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests. May work both in the field and laboratory regularly. Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work. This position requires 10% domestic travel.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study and five (5) years of experience as a Geotechnical Project Engineer, Staff Engineer, Lab Technician or related role where required experience gained.

In lieu of a Bachelors degree in stated fields and five (5) years of stated experience, employer will accept a Masters degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study and three (3) years of experience of experience as a Geotechnical Project Engineer, Staff Engineer, Lab Technician or related role where required experience gained.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Also requires experience in the following:

  • Professional Engineering license;
  • Three (3) years of making decisions and recommendations in reference to proposals and reports;
  • Three (3) years of preparing and reviewing Engineering reports, project plans and specifications prepared by others;
  • Three (3) years of preparing proposals to provide professional services;
  • Three (3) years of reviewing recommendations with Principal Consultant; and
  • Three (3) years of maintaining and leveraging client relationships and developing new project opportunities.
