Construction LEAD

We are a SAN JOSE based General Contractor hiring a Construction LEAD in the bay area. Looking for the right employee (Finish Carpenter, Plumbing, Cabinetry, Light Electrical) to join our team. At least 7+ years of verified work experience. STRONG finish work.

This employee's role is to lead in the remodel of custom kitchens and baths. They will install kitchen/bath cabinets, doors, flooring, siding, windows and drywall. They will maintain a professional, ethical, and positive attitude with a high level of customer service working well as homeowners and directly with our project manager.

Essential Functions:

--Frame floors, walls, roofs and decks
--Installing windows and exterior doors
--Installing cabinetry, millwork and interior doors
--Install and connect appliances
--Install sub-flooring and underlayment
--Install hardware on doors, windows, and cabinets
--Patch and texture drywall
--Caulking and touch up paint
--Excavations on small foundations and pads
--Form and pour small foundations and pads
--Clean and inspect work areas
--Supervise all work done by carpenter apprentice and laborers
--Support project managers
--Interpret and understand engineering and/or building plans, improvement standards, construction specifications, and city ordinances
--Knowing and understanding blueprints, building plans and specifications

Competencies:

--Extensive knowledge of power tools, including skill saw, miter saw and jigsaw
--Possession of basic hand tools and reliable transportation to job sites
--Capable of climbing on ladders and carrying at least 80 pounds

Work Environment:

This construction job operates indoors and outdoors. Work required outdoors is subject to varying weather conditions. This role routinely uses various materials and power equipment. The job requires the ability to be able to work in cramped spaces, frequent lifting, standing, and kneeling.

Experience
--7+ years experience in finish carpentry
--Additional 5+ years experience in rough carpentry preferred
--Skilled Certifications are a plus but not required
--Site planning experience a plus

--Ability to pass a drug screening & background check
--Valid drivers license
--Reliable transportation with applicable insurance coverage
--Clean driving record
