Mechanic II and III: Refuel vehicles and check and add vehicle fluids, clean, detail, and prepare vehicles for customer use, assist customers, and assist with bulk fuel deliveries, inspect and report vehicle damage, transport vehicles to various locations, remove and replace van seats, maintain a clean vehicle prep/work area, maintain documentation, and assist other mechanics. Additionally, you will perform vehicle maintenance and service such as oil and filter changes, checking and adjusting fluid levels, lubricating vehicle chassis and related components, replacing belts, hoses, fuses and light bulbs, repairing, installing, rotating, and balancing tires, and replacing brake pads, shoes, & spring kits. A Mechanic 2 will also inspect and repair exhaust systems, check and repair mechanical and electrical systems on power equipment, and perform safety inspections.
Mechanic III: In addition to the duties and responsibilities above, a level 3 will complete complex repairs and maintenance on all types of power equipment and vehicles, repair turn rotors and drums, rebuild hydraulics, diagnose anti-lock brake systems, inspect, diagnose, remove, repair, and/or replace suspensions systems, power train components, heating and air conditioning components, perform vehicle tune ups including replacing fuel injectors, fuel filters, and check and repair emission system, and respond to vehicle service calls.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Mechanic II:- High school or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience performing under vehicles services and repair.
- Proficient in automotive lubrication, cooling, suspension, and servicing basic automotive systems.
- Knowledgeable of computer-based diagnostic equipment and in vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
- Knowledge of under vehicle mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles.
- Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment.
- Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents.
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand service manuals.
- Must have current ASE certifications or equivalent certifications in another program.
Mechanic III:
- Associate's degree in Automotive Technology, Diesel Heavy Truck
- Technology, other related field of study, or equivalent education/experience.
- 5+ years experience performing full-service automotive repair and services.
- Skilled using computer-based diagnostic equipment and proficient in vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles.
- Ability to handle and proficient in the use of various tools and heavy equipment.
- Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents.
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Strong communications skills.
- Ability to read and understand service manuals.
- Current ASE Master Tech (completion of all ASE certifications in a subject area) or equivalent certifications in another program.
Mechanic II and III:
- Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Mechanic II:- Associate's degree in Automotive Technology, Diesel Heavy Truck Technology, other related field of study, or equivalent education/experience.
- 2+ years experience performing full-service automotive repair and services.
Mechanic III:
- CDL (commercial driver's license)
