Job Overview :
Excelsior Blower Systems, an Ingersoll Rand Company, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer / CAD Designer who is looking for a role where no two designs are the same. Bring your expertise, and preferable electromechanical, PLC skills and work on rotating equipment skid design. Join a dynamic team where every project brings something new-whether it's custom-engineered blower packaging or adapting standard product lines to fit unique spaces. This is true Engineer-to-Order (ETO) work that keeps things fresh and challenging.

Responsibilities:
- Design structural steel skids using SolidWorks 3D software
- Create engineering submittal documents per project specifications
- Communicate with customers regarding product design and specifications
- Generate bills of material, cut lists and fabrication drawings
- Create and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
- Participate in finished equipment run testing
- Inspect completed assembled equipment skids
- Support the sales department with technical information
- Interact with shop fabrication & assembly personnel
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Electro-mechanical Engineering Technology or similar field.
- Applicants with Computer Aided Drafting degree or certificate or equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD software
- Understanding of structural steel metal fabrication and pipe weldments
Core Competencies:
- Ability to communicate with customers' engineering departments
- Ability to multi-task and work with multiple projects
- Strong problem solving and project management skills
- Strong English communication skills, oral and written
- Ability to work in a small office environment and collaborate with peers
Preferences:
- Experience in sheet metal forming is a plus
- Knowledge of electrical controls and wiring is a plus
- Experience with FEA tools and design validation methods is a plus
