Design Engineer - Coolers

We are looking for a candidate to join our team as a Design Engineer working as a member of our team. This team is responsible for the design of new products and improving the characteristics of existing products. They will be a part of an energetic group of professionals developing world-class consumer products. Proficiency in Creo (Pro/E) or similar software is preferred.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, organized and have excellent communication skills. Another fine attribute is having a good attitude regarding team work and working well with all team members.

Duties and responsibilities for this position are as follows:

CAD Management Responsibilities including: Managing project plans and complete project tasks; Creating CAD and drawings for new products; Assisting in the verification of drawings and part deliverables per standard work; Releasing drawings to manufacturing and tooling; and Coordinating and sending part drawings and files to vendors.

Design Verification Responsibilities including: Creating work orders for laser cell, machine shop, and prototyping shop; Creating and submitting FAs; Creating test orders; Performing product assembly audits; Coordinating the following: ordering of product, delivery of product, and assembly of product for design verification and testing.

Other Duties include: Contributing in brain-storming meetings; Reviewing products and processes, and make suggestions to improve value-stream costs; Performing project related tasks like creation of presentations for management; and Finding and retrieving answers to questions from other areas relating to engineering data.

Required Skills:

  • Must have Bachelor's degree in Engineering and must have strong skills in engineering mechanics and strength of materials
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and to respond effectively to common inquiries or complaints while having the ability to effectively present information to management.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to set priorities based on current business needs and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to coordinate with local and remote team members
  • Self-starter with drive for results and attention to detail
  • Independently complete assignments within established time frames
