My client is Fortune 100 Energy Management and Building Automation Company that was recently voted by Forbes Magazine as a top ten places to work in the world! They are actively seeking a Building Automation Design Engineer who can design and oversee the engineering side of Building Automation!

As a Building Automation Design Engineer you will:

  • Understand project requirements and design building automation solutions for higher education and K12 education facilities, data centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, high-rise buildings, and lab facilities.
  • Prepare design documents, including mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bills of materials, sequences of operations, valve and damper schedules, and DDC panel layouts.
  • Design building automation network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices connected through Modbus, Siemens APOGEE, or BACnet.
  • Analyze plans, construction contract specifications, and codes to determine project requirements and risks.
  • Design building and space pressurization solutions, chiller and boiler plant sequencing control, etc.
  • Prepare engineering re-estimates and follow up with appropriate sales and management to ensure understanding of and satisfaction with job scope.
  • Perform quality assurance; peer-review engineering documents.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Experience in building automation (HVAC controls) design:
    • Mid-Level: 3+ years
    • Senior Level: 5+ years
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Demonstrated ability to design large and complex jobs with some deviation using standard tools, products, and practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in engineering design software or drafting tools such as AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
